DFM from a manufacturing perspective

Useful before quotation or release
DFM can be useful before a new component is released to manufacture, before an RFQ is finalised, or when an existing job is proving slower or more difficult than expected.

Typical inputs and deliverables
Send the available CAD model, drawing, specification, material information and any known production concern. Depending on the agreed scope, the output may be a concise manufacturability review, marked-up information, a discussion of options, or revised models and drawings.

Most DFM reviews are completed remotely from the model, drawing and relevant requirements. Scope, deliverables, price basis and timescale are agreed before work begins, and review information is returned digitally.
